The GroupInvestor Relations
The movement within the manufacturing plant of raw materials, components and sub-assemblies - either to/from stocking points or line-side for turning into finished goods - plus the movement of finished product out to the factory gate.
DHL's in-plant logistics services cover a range of activities undertaken within our customers' facilities and property fence boundaries that integrate fully with their production processes and external supply chains. Services include:

  • storage and distribution
  • line-side feeding
  • packing
  • blending
  • yard management
  • container management
  • returnable asset management (e.g. tote bins)
  • sample packing and shipping
  • transportation scheduling and dispatch.
In addition, we also offer expert support with:

  • design and layout of production facilities for optimum materials flow
  • design and implementation of storage and handling systems
  • design and commissioning of IT/visibility systems
  • introduction of best-in-class logistics processes and procedures into the factory environment.
DHL believes that all processes in the plant should be considered holistically and integrated with external logistics systems. Just like other logistics activities there is otherwise a tendency to shift costs from one area to another. We analyse the complete system, including the way the plant interfaces with inbound to manufacturing and outbound logistics.
